Bristol International Airport Transfers
Bristol city and Bristol Airport are well connected via train, coach and buses, but also via various motorways. Passengers for flights departing from Bristol have a choice of airport and city buses taking them from Bristol city destinations directly to the airport.
Getting to the airport by Car
On an east to west axis Bristol is connected via London all the way to South and West Wales via the M4 motorway. Running north to southwest from Birmingham to Exeter the M5 motorway also covers Bristol. The M49 motorway forms a short cut to the M5 in the south and the M4's Severn Crossing in the west of the country. From the M4 motorists can take the M32 into the city centre of Bristol. The airport is located just 8 miles south of central Bristol on the A38.
Motorists coming from the north of the country via the M5 should leave the motorway at junction 18, where they will see the airport already signposted. The A4 leads towards Bristol and the airport. Passing the Bristol City Football Ground motorists should head to the A38 towards Taunton and the airport.
Motorists coming from the south of the country on the M5 should leave the motorway at junction 22. At the roundabout motorists should head for the 3rd exit that is signposted for the A38. When reaching the East Brent roundabout that joins with the A370, motorists should take the 2nd exit that is signposted for the A38 and the airport. After approximately 11 miles the airport can be located on the left hand side.
Coming from the south east and Bath, motorists should follow the A4 towards Bristol, then head left onto the A4174, which is signposted Ring Road and from there onwards to the airport and the A38 Taunton.
Coming from the east on the M4 motorists should leave at junction 20 to join the M5 going southbound, after that the directions are as above for "northern" drivers.
Getting to the airport by Train
The airport does not have its own railway station, but the Airport Flyer Express bus service pick up and drops off passengers at the Temple Mead train station in the city center at 10 minute intervals throughout the day. Closest to the city center, Temple Mead offers high speed rail connections from and to London Paddington as well as various regional and local connections via First Great Western and CrossCountry train services. South West Trains operated limited services to London Waterloo, too.
Bristol's other main railway station is Bristol Parkway in the north of the city. Here passengers will arrive from destinations such as Cardiff in Wales and London as well as Birmingham and other North Eastern destinations. There is a train and bus link between the two train stations, allowing passengers onward travel via the Airport Flyer Express bus to the airport.
From Bath passengers for the airport have some 5 trains per hour available and London Paddington connections run every 30 minutes. From Cheltenham there are 3 trains per hour leaving for Bristol and from Cardiff there are two trains every hour leaving for Bristol.
Getting to the airport by Bus

The journey takes around 30 minutes from the city center to the airport. The service operates between 02.30 am and 00.45 pm.
